On a recent trip to the Richtersveld my brother in law ran out of talent and sliced the sidewall badly (I felt the car being nudged sideways). It cut right through all the rubber to the protective layers below.
Now, in any other ‘normal’ AT it would have punctured and left us stranded on a rocky incline. I was super impressed to see that not only did the tyre not puncture but we continued driving on it all the way back to the camp where we changed it for safety reasons. From experience I know what abuse this tyre can take.
50-60% of my mileage is in the bush. I am regularly in Namibia, specifically the Koakoland where the conditions for tyres are horrendous and the ST Maxx has come through with flying colours.
